Gun ViolenceAfter seeing the homicide rate in their city increase 17% from 2004 to 2007 Milwaukeeans were understandably fed up with the gun violence epidemic. The problem was, they didn’t know how to get involved. Partnering with the District Attorney, Serve launched the “One Milwaukee” campaign to inspire and encourage Milwaukeeans to take responsibility for the gun violence issue. The campaign introduced dozens of successful inner-city gun violence prevention programs generating over 15 million gross media impressions, driving 14,271 visitors to the website, and increasing donations to gun violence prevention programs.
