In January of 2014 she launched Ignite Change, which brings much needed attention to deserving social causes throughout the country. She is finishing a five year documentary project on urban boarding schools for at-risk youth as a solution for breaking the cycle of poverty, under-education and violence. Her daughter Meghan teaches autistic kids, and her son Drew started his own business, a traveling social cause shop, Wander & Co. Heather, an avid trampolinist and unicyclist, married Neil Perkins in 2013 on the Quantock hills in his homeland, Somerset England.
